@snnsnshn @0xSaphyra @TimSweeneyEpic There was a rather large push by Valve to get people to enable the EAC checkbox, because it was literally one checkbox to enable Linux support. You'd be shocked how many devs actively resisted a single checkbox. Including Fortnite.

@snnsnshn @BayGamerJJ @0xSaphyra @TimSweeneyEpic Nope. EAC runs entirely in userspace, and doesn't get kernel-level access. Due to namespace separation, it's impossible for a trainer/cheating app to access it.

@0xSaphyra @TimSweeneyEpic I'm sure they would've done it long ago if it was that easy. Not familiar with EAC, you might be correct, but the #1 response I see is the anti-cheating software being one of the main blockers. Epic Launcher seems to be another thing that needs porting.

@snnsnshn @GMcHorseman @0xSaphyra @TimSweeneyEpic I dont think everyone did but Apex Legends said it wasnt working properly, since the linux support on anti cheats doesnt involve kernel level stuff (mainly userspace) it isnt as good so cheaters on both (win and lunix) took advantage of that, they took the easiest solution.

After dealing for 2 decades with FOSS, even being involved into porting games to Linux, I can tell that 🐧 users always wan… demand free stuff. Highly ungrateful and unlikeable community.
