But the desperation to cut costs has officially created a new problem that will grow exponentially as the hard work of previous employees runs dry in the coming months: an empty gap where pillars of this game's development helped make things happen. the real question is how many times does a major layoff scenario need to happen in order for some sort of internal change to take effect? because last i checked, leadership & the corpo scum wearing the suits in these situations have never lost their jobs or likely even taken a pay cut in these layoff occasions while a handful of the people who put their heart & soul into the craft are dropped like they're nothing. too much money is being put into other avenues of this game and/or the Epic Games launcher as a whole - solve that issue rather than firing a hefty sum of what contributed to your success

I understand your frustration, but these talented creators now have the opportunity to build and publish their own maps.
My suggestion is simple: give them a significantly larger share of the engagement payouts. They’ll keep adding real value to Fortnite while enjoying 100% creative freedom. It’s a genuine win-win. Fortnite Creative powered by Unreal Engine is clearly the next chapter.
As for the rest of the team, I’m confident they’ll land on their feet—either launching their own ventures as entrepreneurs or getting quickly scooped up by the industry. Tim isn’t wrong. These veterans have outstanding resumes and are almost certainly being headhunted as we speak.
