Is there any chance we could have a setting to toggle whether you want the players, elims, and storm timers to change their position either adjacent to the minimap (like current) or below the minimap (like previously)? I think it's one thing that'd really help the UI on preference.

Totally fair and great question! It means that when your team mates are out of view on the mini map, their icon gets “anchored” to the outer edge of the mini map so you can see their direction. Where this helps is if, for example, they say “help, I’m being pushed!” - at a quick glance you can see where they are positioned relative to your position.
