To clarify, we won't be featuring these genres exclusively! These are just the target genres & devices that we feel are aligned with our growth goals for the ecosystem. We’ll prioritize these picks for the next six months, but that doesn't mean that other genres won't be featured during this period.

Great news about boosting Epic Picks performance. But so discouraging seeing certain genres will be prioritized, not all creators want to chase trens and the current big thing, some want to specialize in specific genres and Epic Picks was a great way to have guaranteed impressions.

Limiting or as you guys said "Prioritizing" only specific genres is not a good idea. Now if someone wants to get into Epic's Picks they need to chase the trends Epic Picks. And the rotation time is crazy, 6 months?? So now if I'm a person who only makes a certain genre of maps I need to wait 2-3 years if I'm lucky for my genre to get picked? Other than that, there's good news about the tab in discover. However making the thumbnail size larger might make it worse for the islands that aren't visible in the front / top spots, unless you guys make the tab larger like Top Rated.

@FNCreate Appreciate the clarification, although prioritizing specific devices is silly. Prioritizing scene graph makes sense for growth. I'd never use the voting device, I'd build something 10x better in Verse.

@FNCreate These are great changes, but by prioritizing specific genres, it also discourages people from making high quality games in other genres, & is a little demotivating for those that are hoping to be featured outside those genres. I'd recommend keeping the old Epic's Picks as well.

@FNCreate Can you guys please be more transparent with approvals? I’ve been beyond playtesting with approvals and no idea when my map will be featured… it’s been in queue since Feb

@FNCreate Great.. i guess if i had 0.1% chance to get in EPICs PICKs.. now its 0.001% I dont know who taking these decisions.. Just say openly that you want to promote only big teams/studios or advanced developers. Atleast do something to help the "smaller" Creators also..

@FNCreate This also raises the bar to the point that, with the current state of discover, there's almost no hope for smaller creators to get their games seen, especially those that don't have the resources to promote them. Having two curated tabs, one with less requirements, is ideal.

@FNCreate Also, side note, prioritizing islands that use such weak devices as the voting devices is a little strange, no? They're pretty much useless and can easily be replaced by some simple verse or even other devices. If they had more functionality I would understand, but...?

@RayBenefield @FNCreate With past callouts it always seems to be an advantage to submit first, with later submissions getting auto rejected. Also, look at the devices they are encouraging devs to use 😂

@FNCreate With these changes, I believe Epic Picks will see fewer plays in the future. With the ambitious goal of 4K+ impressions, which few games have achieved recently, limiting genres won't benefit from that either. THIS IS NOT "CALLOUT" IT'S EPIC PICKS
